The A-list actor, who seems to have a penchant for the Upper West Side, was outbid on the 7,000 square foot condo at 535 West End Avenue.
According to the Post, Damon also requested some pricey changes to the apartment and lost out on the bid as a result. The unit is said to be in contract for $20 million.
“Another family came in with a higher bid and scooped the unit out from under him,” an insider says.
Not all is lost, however. The apartment Damon was vying for was originally a part of a 14,000 square foot unit listed for $37.5 million that was split in two. He still has a chance to snag the second unit, as it is expected to be listed soon.
Hopefully Damon has learned his lesson and will channel his “Ocean’s” intuition toward nailing the next bid.
