Uber co-founder revealed as buyer of $40 million NYC penthouse

A look inside

(NEW YORK, NY) — Travis Kalanick, Uber co-founder, is probably thinking about the 20-foot private rooftop pool in his $40 million NYC penthouse right now.

You read that right, a rooftop, heated, 20-foot private pool. Back in August, a stunning penthouse at Renzo Piano’s 565 Broome Soho, listed for $40 million, was sold to a private buyer.

That buyer has been revealed as Kalanick, according to the Wall Street Journal. Purchased for $4 million less than the asking price, this sweet penthouse spans 6,655 square feet and is equipped with four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and ceilings that stretch more than 16 feet high.

The custom cabinetry, high-end appliances, and two terraces are impressive, but did we mention the 20-foot private pool?

The pool, or should we say, rooftop masterpiece, is located on one of the terraces and comes with breathtaking views of the neighborhood. Ever gaze at the city skyline while swimming a few laps? Yeah, neither have we. But, arguably the best part of it all is the fabulous neighbor on the other terrace that goes by the name of outdoor kitchen. Burgers while poolside, anyone?

While the penthouse is still undergoing renovation, Kalanick’s new humble abode is a paradise, and we’re certainly crossing our fingers for a housewarming party!
