Saks Fifth Avenue to close women’s store at Brookfield Place in New York

The men’s store will remain open

(NEW YORK, NY)  Saks Fifth Avenue has announced it will shut the doors of its women’s store in Manhattan’s Brookfield Place. However, the luxury department store will keep the men’s store in the same location open.

The 86,000-square-foot women’s shop will close on January 5th. According to reports, the storefront was used as a “test concept.” The company hopes to relocate sales associates.

In other news, The company’s Fifth Avenue flagship is undergoing a $250 million renovation which, according to reports, is responsible for a 7.3 percent comparable-sales surge in the third quarter.
