(NEW YORK, NY) — While Leonardo DiCaprio is known for his starring roles in hit Hollywood movies, off the screen he holds the keys to a real estate empire.
DiCaprio’s impressive portfolio includes everything from stunning mansions to a private island.
His most recent purchase was a 1920s Los Angeles mansion for $4.5 million. But he began investing in real estate back in the ’90s.
In 1998 he purchased a compound in Hollywood Hills from Madonna $2 million. Four years later, he bought a stunning bungalow next to California’s Carbon beach for $1.775 M.
Leonardo has a pretty expensive presence on the east coast as well. After purchasing a luxury apartment in NYC for $3.67 million, he loved it so much he bought the unit next door for $8 million in 2014.
Now, for the coolest purchase of all. In 2005, DiCaprio purchased an island off the coast of Belize for $1.75 million. Yes, an island. Currently, the island is being developed into a wellness-focused eco-resort that will help save the Island’s ecosystem while also offering guests a luxury getaway.
