(NEW YORK, NY) — New York City is the best place on the planet for technology.
In an analysis released by brokerage Savills Plc, New York ranked first in an index measuring 30 global tech-heavy cities. San Francisco was ranked second and London came in third.
What sets New York apart from tech hubs like San Francisco is its ability to breed homegrown talent while simultaneously recruiting it from around the world.
In the past year, New York City saw big-name companies like Amazon and Google expand. And many are forecasting the best has yet to come.
This is the first time New York came out on top in the Savills index. According to the report, over the past three years, New York grew its venture capital to be billions of dollars more than San Francisco.
