(NEW YORK, NY) — WeWork is making its way downtown!
The coworking company has recently signed a a nearly 200,000-square-foot lease to occupy the top floors at 199 Water St., in the Financial District. And according to reports, is in talks about a 100,000 square-foot leave at 120 Broadway.
The eight-year-old company expanded across New York City last year stealing the title of Manhattan’s largest office tenant from JP Morgan Chase.
However, while WeWork saw massive growth in Midtown and Upper Manhattan, Lower Manhattan didn’t see much of the company. With 40 locations across the city, only seven of them are Downtown.
“In the Flatiron District and Chelsea, there are a lot of tech companies. But in the Financial District, we’re seeing demand from all kinds of companies. It is an area of focus for us,” said a spokesperson for WeWork.
