(NEW YORK, NY) — Don’t let her friendly talk show personality and pearly white smile fool you because when it comes to real estate, she is all business. In the past two years, Ellen DeGeneres has become one of the top real estate and decor icons for celebrities and developers.
With an annual salary of $87.5 million, Ellen has been able to heavily invest in some of California’s finest real estate, approximately $153 million worth. In the past few years, DeGeneres has called areas such as Montecito, Carpinteria, Beverly Hills and Westwood home. While buying some of California’s finest, Ellen has worked with some of real estate’s finest. Over the past 25 years, Ellen has bought, recreated and sold over a dozen homes to other well-known A-listers like Ryan Seacrest and former CEO of Google Eric Schmidt. In 2015, Ellen had also released her book “Home”, sharing some of her realty ventures and decorating tips. For Ellen, buying and selling homes is a passion but also acts as another source of income. She explains during her interview on The Today Show the simple process of buying realty as a top celebrity, saying “We buy a house and we love it, and we stay in it. Then we get a little bored because we like a different style or different aesthetic – so if I find something else, and we make money, why not move to another house?”
As of right now, Ellen is enjoying her $15 million-dollar view with her pricelessly gorgeous wife, Portia De Rossi, at their home in Beverly Hills, California.
