(NEW YORK, NY)— If you’re a person who is adventurous and doesn’t mind a unique stay while in NYC, you’ll definitely want to check out these unique homes. Out of curiosity, I went on the Airbnb website and found 5 interesting homes that immediately stood out.
This unique boathouse located on the beachfront of Rockaway Beach is number one on my list because of it’s spacious yet cozy feel. The Ziggy Surfhouse has 4 bedrooms, 7 baths, and holds 12 guests! Host Ben Sargent, who has previously starred as a host on Hookline and Diner on the Cooking Channel isn’t only offering his beautiful home but can also teach you how to surf or fish if you ask! This home is a bit on the pricier side averaging on $680 per night but still definitely worth it.
A cozy carriage house located in Boerum Hill in Brooklyn is classified as a tiny home. The tiny home includes a mini kitchen, a loft space, and an abundance of natural light. The uniqueness of this home doesn’t just include its size, there is also a 20ft ceiling decorated with wood beams, a window nook, and shower designed with white subway tile and marble flooring. The Carriage House sits in the perfect location surrounded by every subway station and in close proximity to restaurants and bars. Sophie offers her house for an average of $175 per night.
The James Franco boat is another home listed by Ben Sargent, he describes this as ” a funky, cozy, weird little paradise on the water.” The outside of the boat has a funky orange wallpaper and is all around decorated with string lights, you can also find a deck area with outdoor seating and a grill. The indoors provides a funky feel and looks a bit cluttered but you can tell that the host set a fishermen’s scene and will make you feel ready to go fishing! The James Franco Houseboat is listed at $255 a night.
Parked in the East Village this cozy camper van sits just a block away from Tompkins Square Park. Have you ever thought about sleeping in a van? Maybe not but this cozy van might change your mind! No there is no kitchen nor bathroom but the van is parked the perfect area close to a gym (which provides showers/bathrooms) and public restrooms. Provided in the space are a “power-up” station and fans/heaters. This unique listing averages in on about $75 a night!
The Salt Shack is yes, another houseboat! This home is a bit different from the rest of the houseboats we’ve seen due to its modern look/feel. The interior of the home is a classically decorated in white, gold, and black. You’ll find a breakfast nook in the modern kitchen, black cabinets, and beautiful plants. If you’re looking for a modern take on a houseboat, the Salt Shack is for you! Host Neanna lists her property at $152 per night.
