(MARKETING)— Using social media has been a recent practice used by real estate agents to market to their targeted audience. When you think of social media platforms you may think of Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Though these are the most commonly used platforms, many others can be a useful tool as well, Pinterest is an example.
Pinterest made its debut 9 years ago but since then has received a credible amount of popularity. This platform provides a visual use of social media and is relatively simple to use. Included in Pinterest are your home feed, boards, and pins.
So how can you use Pinterest as a real estate agent, here are some tips:
- When creating your first board don’t just include real estate
You may be thinking “but isn’t the point of creating this profile for real estate?” Well yes! but expand and be diverse, you want to engage people, connect and even form relationships. Examples of your diverse boards can include topics such as home improvement, interior/exterior decor, motivational quotes, and even some of your hobbies. You don’t want to be a “real estate machine” you need to be able to engage with your audience in a way that shows your personality as well.
2. Join group boards
On Pinterest, you have the choice of creating personal boards for only yourself but also have the option of joining a group board. A group board is owned by the creator but has given another or multiple “pinners” permission to add pins to the board. This feature can be helpful because the creators’ followers can also view your content, this is essentially a great way to bring more exposure to your pins.
3.Create a lifestyle board with each listing you post
A lifestyle board simply means what you can find with your listing, these can be about the surrounding neighborhood, the nearest grocery stores, shopping locations, schools, or anything else that involves daily activities. People want to make sure not only the home is perfect but also the surrounding area and what better way than to creatively showcase these factors!
