(NEW YORK, NEW YORK)—  Here is this week’s roundup of restaurant news from West Side Rag.

Trendy Australian restaurant Burke & Wills, which has been on West 79thstreet since 2013, was recently seized. The building was first seized in 2017 for tax related debts, but soon reopened. It’s unclear if the initial crime caught up to them, or if it’s for a new reason

Upper West Siders will be devastated that the neighborhood Shake Shack, a popular destination for teens and families near the Natural History Museum, will be closed for the next six weeks to address a “major renovation”, including plans for modernizing the layout to alleviate the sometimes hellishly long lines. But don’t fret—their lease has been renewed for another twelve years to come.

Mama’s Too Pizzeria, which has been on Broadway between 105thand 106thsince 2016, debuts a godly new meatball parm sandwichreceiving high praise from critics. The restaurant has over eight starsat restaurant review startup The Infatuation and one whole starfrom The New York Times(trust, me, that’s more complimentary than it sounds—NYT rarely reviews pizza joints at all).
